The Thornvault Run

In the vertical jungle metropolis of Ilyara, entire districts are chained to the backs of slumbering titan-beasts buried beneath the earth. Kael Vey, a reckless courier who navigates the city by gliding between massive hanging roots and bone bridges, accidentally steals a living seed known as the Thornvault Core during a gang ambush. The Core bonds to his arm and begins growing crystalline thorns beneath his skin, marking him as the next “Bearer” in a prophecy tied to the awakening of the beast-gods. Hunted by royal hunters and criminal clans alike, Kael reluctantly teams up with Talia Rune, a runaway beast-smith princess capable of forging weapons from monster bones.

As the pair flee across kingdoms built atop migrating titan-creatures, they uncover the truth: the Thornvault is not a weapon, but a dormant ecosystem designed to imprison an ancient parasitic empire that once controlled the beast-gods like puppets. The royal court intends to crack open the Thornvault and harness its creatures for conquest before rival nations can. Kael and Talia battle root-riding mercenaries, colossal fungal leviathans, and airborne knights mounted on manta-like drakes while the Core steadily transforms Kael into something no longer fully human. Their journey leads them into the Hollow Maw, a canyon formed from the ribcage of a dead titan where the first Beast War ended centuries earlier.

In the final confrontation atop the awakening titan-city of Vordrake, Kael embraces the Thornvault’s transformation to merge with the living ecosystem inside it, turning his body into a conduit capable of commanding the beast-gods without enslaving them. Talia forges a massive chainblade from the bones of her ancestors and leads a rebellion against the royal armies as the parasite empire erupts from beneath the city. Together they trigger the migration of the titans, tearing the old kingdoms apart and forcing humanity into an uneasy new age where civilization must travel with the living world instead of ruling over it.
