Realizing the town weaponizes collective memory to erase inconvenient truths, Lena races to finish and transmit her documentary before San Cordelia turns its process against her crew. In the final days of filming, she uncovers the origin of the ritual: decades earlier, a mining disaster caused by town leaders killed hundreds, and the Silence was created to bury testimony permanently. During a chaotic town festival held under a solar eclipse, Lena projects the unfinished documentary across the central plaza, forcing residents to confront the faces and voices they collectively erased. The town fractures between denial and confession as authorities arrive, but the ending remains unsettlingly ambiguous when Lena’s final narration cuts out mid-sentence — and her own image flickers from the footage.
